Isaiah's Daughter By Mesu Andrews

This book is from: Blogging For Books
I am not paid for my opinion. This review is an honest review

Isaiah's Daughter
A Novel of Prophets & Kings
Mesu Andrews also wrote the wonderful book Miriam.
Back Cover:
WHIPS CRACKED. SOLDIERS SHOUTED. MY FEET BLISTERED IN A SUNBAKED WILDERNESS. WE KEPT WALKING, WALKING, WALKING...
The Hebrews are a divided nation. Israel in the north-ten tribes strong-has bowed to pagan worship. In the Judah's two tribes, an evil king mocks King David's legacy while a remnant of Yahweh's faithful cling desperately to their one true God.
Caught in the middle of the warring is an orphaned girl names Ishma-meaning "desolation". Her short life already mirrors her name.
YET YAHWEH'S PLANS FOR HER HAS ONLY BEGUN.
Ishma enters the prophet Isaiah's home as a household servant, but her quick mind and lively spirit gain the friendship of Prince Hezekiah. When Isaiah sees their relationship mature, he adopts Ishma, giving her a royal pedigree and a new name. Ishma becomes Hephzibah-"delight of the Lord"- and the desolate captive becomes Judah's queen.
But loving Hezekiah will require more of Hephzibah than she ever imagined. From Ahaz's terrifying reign to the Assyrian threat and Isaiah's own perplexing prophecies- Zibah remains trapped by fear, facing an uncertain future, Will palace life lead to freedom from her past? Or can she trust everything o the only One who gives life and delivers both a captive heart and a desperate nation?
My Star rating is: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The reason for my star rating:
As you know my blog is for family rating. Some scenes in the book may be a bit mature or go to far. For myself it was almost on the line. I highly advise parents reading this book Pages that i think the most important to check in this un-proofed book is pages 156-157 and 201-202. I the Mesu could have left these part out to make it more family friendly.

This book may be considered a romance book. I am not sure because I have never read a confirmed romance book. But their is a lot of love in this book. LOL.
MY THOUGHTS:
The first thing I notice about this book is how beautiful the cover is. The author did a wonderful job in choosing a cover design.
The thickness of the book, for me, is awesome! I have always loved a good thick book. To me it seems like it is more time to spend with a good friend.
At the very beginning of the book Mesu has you totally engrossed into the story. If you like a book the immediately has your attention, this is the book for you! You feel like the main character is your very best friend!
This book makes Isaiah and King Hezekiah (and others) so much alive. They have never seem so real as when you read this book.
This book also goes over a lot of Bibical history, giving good details to those history buffs out their like me. I find it fascinating how much detail she gives to these events.
this book covers over 30 years so it does keep you on your toes as far as where you are in their lifes.
Overall, with parental consent for certain ages (maybe 20 and under :P ) this is a very good book and I highly enjoyed reading it.
