Punderdome

Shalom!
Sorry again for this kind of review! I have not really had time at as recently to read books die the my hectic summer. :D

This review is actually not a book, but a game.   It is called Punderdome, names after a game show.

It is where you get to cards and make a pun, ideally the worst pun you could think of. :D It also has a Mystery prize envelopes where you put a good prize written on a slip on one, and the other a bad. But since we are a little poor for a good, we will most likely just do it for fun. :D The Cards are very nice quality, and the packaging is wonderful. But I do wonder why there are a skull and cross bones on the cover, lol
I have yet to try it because I waiting for the King of Puns to come for a visit, my brother-in-law Tim. :D

But it does look like fun!!
Enjoy!

Cherry Ames

Shalom!!!

Todays pick is.....

CHERRY AMES

Not only do I love history-fiction but I love nurse books!

I love this series!

Sum up:  Student Nurse, (the first book summary)Cherry starts nursing school at Spencer with a mixture of anxiety and anticipation - would she have what it takes to be a nurse? She leaves her quiet town of Hilton, Illinois for the bustle of hospital life, to meet challenges she wouldn't have imagined. The U.S. is at war. Many nurses have gone to the front, and there is a shortage of RNs at Spencer-which Cherry and her classmates help to fill, as they learn the skills they need to graduate. And who is the mysterious patient in the secret room that no one seems to know anything about? Should Cherry risk expulsion to save his life?

I love them but if you are not sure about getting them all like I am trying I will tell you to only get the first book (above) to Veteran's Nurse. Before I got them I read that everyone pretty much agreed these 8 books were the best, but I wanted to decide for myself. I totally agree, but I did just find another good one. :D

This series begins during WW2 and starts her off on her journey of becoming/being a nurse.

I hope you enjoy this pick!

Also if you could, if you read this could you leave a message so I know people are enjoying this website.:I will then try to become more faithful. :D

Blessings!!

My First Picks

Shalom!

Here are my first picks. I have read these every since I little, the 3rd since I was 10. These are a 100% safe.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I have through the years.

Summary: The author, H. Rider Haggard, best known for his timeless classic, King Solomon's Mine ( by the way, I DO NOT recommend KSM because of an evil religion part that creeps me out ) recounts in this tale  the inspiring story of Lysbeth, a young Dutch woman forced to endure the perils and tribulations of the Spanish Occupation's yoke and the Inquisition of the 16th century. The momentous events of her life unfold against the turbulent backdrop of the struggle for Dutch Independence, led by William the Silent.
This enduring story of faith, love, and hardship is now presented in a newly revised and updated version for modern readers. Intense action, virtuous romance, and the abiding faith of the characters stand out from the pages of this unforgettable novel

Summary: From Sir, H. Rider Haggard, the author of the famous novel, KSM (as seen above), comes this classic adventure of Miriam, a young Christian woman living in the Roman Empire during during the first century after Christ, and Marcus, the Roman officer who has desired to win her hand. As Miriam faces hardships and fiery trials, her faith is continually strengthened by the Lord. The historic events  portrayed in Pearl Maiden culminate in the Roman siege and destruction of Jerusalem and its Temple in A.D. 70.

Now in a newly revised and update Centennial Edition, Pearl Maiden continues to be a wonderful story of faith for modern readers. Stirring events, captivating characters, and careful attention to historical detail are seamlessly blended here to produce a truly uplifting novel.      This is the only book I've seen on the fall if Jerusalem.

(Though the two above may be considered by some a romance. It is not really a romance. Just a heads up I don't read romance books.)

Summary: Abandoned by his parents and shunned by society, Vinegar Boy is certain he'll be adopted once Jesus removes the ugly birthmark that scars his cheek. But when he carries the drugged vinegar wine to a crucifixion,  Vinegar Boy finds himself face to face with the only One who can heal his face. Is there still time for a miracle?
This book is a classic work of fiction that has inspired thousands of Christians for decades.

Thanks for looking. Hope you find one of these very good!
